Irish Dogs Vintage didn’t start with a grand plan or a glossy shopfront—it started with a cold industrial unit in Athy, a dream, and a pile of vintage clothes so big we were half-expecting it to topple over. That first shipment was a wild mix of vintage treasures, second-hand finds, and dead-stock gems. Honestly, we weren’t even sure anyone would want to buy them. But we dove in headfirst, fueled by determination, a spark of creativity, and more tea breaks than we’d care to admit.

Friends showed up with paintbrushes, playlists, and a willingness to roll up their sleeves. They styled outfits, modeled clothes, cleaned, and decorated the space. It wasn’t fancy, but it was full of heart—and that made it ours.

Selling on Depop was our first step into the world of vintage retail. It was exciting, nerve-wracking, and honestly, a bit chaotic. But each sale felt like a tiny victory. As orders started rolling in, we learned the ropes of running a business by jumping in headfirst.

For almost two years, Irish Dogs Vintage had a home in Crookstown that was cosy, inviting, and packed with personality. Tunes were always blaring, arcade machines and vintage knick-knacks filled every corner, and Polaroids covered the walls—each one a snapshot of the adorable pets that popped in to visit.

It was more than just a shop; it was a place where vintage lovers, curious wanderers, and dog enthusiasts collided. Whether you came to shop, chat, or just soak in the atmosphere, you were always welcome. While we’ve now said goodbye to that space, we’re already looking forward to creating a new home—one that’s just as full of character, community, and, of course, wagging tails. Stay tuned. 🐾
